In Japan, the ancient art of aizome—indigo dyeing—has been cultivated for centuries. It has been our honor to partner closely with a family workshop where this craft has been passed down for five generations, each artisan adding their own chapter to a lineage of mastery. Through their practiced hands, cotton fabric is dyed using fermented Japanese indigo—known as ai—and prepared in decades-old wooden casks. Each piece emerges transformed into countless indelible gradients of color, a blueprint of ongoing dialogue between time-honored wisdom and elemental alchemy.
We like to think of CYPRÈS 21 as a cabin deep in the woods, a hushed retreat beyond the reach of buzzing phones and distraction; an antidote to the urgency of modern life. Bright, rising, resinous cypress is supported by an understory of spicy aromatics: juniper, clove, and star anise, all anchored by the grounding warmth of incense and the seductive spell of patchouli. We can’t promise CYPRÈS 21 will lower your cortisol, but we can offer a moment of pause, and an atmosphere of peace.
